Yesterday I spotted a new boutique at the Avenues Phase II called
The FashCode, it’s the kind of boutique you go to for casual chic items and funky accessories. I actually liked the sales people as they were very attentive and the lay out of the store is very spacious, simple, and easy to get through. They carried brands such as
Zucca and
Tsumori Chisato, Raybans. They were also selling some really cool lomography cameras too. Here’s a sneak peak of what’s available now is store.

During my last visit to Villa Karizma, located opposite to Amiri Hospital, I stumbled upon a tiny little store called "My Handmade" with cute necklaces, brooches, shawls, and other adorable stuff. And then I was baffled to find out that almost everything in store is actually handmade by a local entrepreneur (and that's according to the sales lady!)
So I had to take a closer look at her work and I was amazed to find how meticulous her work is. Just look at these charming mobile accessories and yes the rug too, the details are mind-blowing. Actually,
her meticulousness reminded me a lot of another local handmade brand, which I’d like to refer to as the “pride-and-the-joy” of the local handmade scene, the
ibrah girls. I’m pretty sure that handmade stuff with such quality like these are very time consuming, but are made with love.
It’s obvious that her talent is phenomenal and I’m glad that she opened her own place to share these wonderful creations.

Sometimes when I step inside certain stores/restaurant I get a feeling like I'm in New York for some reason, like
Kiehl's in the Avenues or Gaucho Grill in Palms (random I know!), maybe it's the music? or the whole ambiance? I don't know. And now I'm adding
Bobbi Brown's branch to the list. This is my first time to visit the store located in 360 Mall even though I always use their make-up and I like how everything looks neat and well organized. And most importantly, the things I was looking for were not sold out! Finally!

Al Mubarak Center might not be a familiar name to the new fashion-forward crowd in Kuwait, even though it has been in the local scene since the opening of its first branch in Hawalli back in 1976, when it first started selling house accessories, bedding, and tableware. It has branched out to open it’s second location in Zahra Complex in the early 90’s and has been recently renovated to resemble walking in your best friend’s room where you will find a collection of her undaunted search for whatever accessories she finds beautiful, irresistible, and unique.
Tucked-away gem of accessories shop,
Al Mubarak Center is located in Zahra Complex’s basement, just under the escalators. The boutique houses a great selection of divine necklaces, vintage-like belts, and stunning clutches in the softest exotic leather, many in unique colors, created by various high-end accessories designers such Nogoy belts, Shana evening clutches, Jennifer Behr for hair accessories, Erickson Beamon, Scott Wilson, Johanne Mills, Florian necklaces, and Sylvia Toledano. You’ll definitely find lots of potential gifts for your fashion-loving friends and special treats for you too.

Did you manage to visit
Dar Al Athar Al Islamiyyah’s museum shop? This place is a must-see. It carries items inspired from the DAI/The al-Sabah Collection and collections from around the world, as well as an extensive collection of carefully edited books with topics ranging from design to history.
Let’s see what’s what other great gift ideas you can find at the shop. As I mentioned in my previous post, all proceeds from the sale are used to support programs of
Dar Al Athar Al Islamiyyah. So in a way you are supporting your community. So, why not get these lovely bookmarks with Arabic alphabets. They make an ideal gift for the bookworm in your life, and they’re only KD 5 each.
Cute cushions case with camel zoomorphic calligraphy which states in Arabic "May God protect Kuwait. It’s a good country”.
Fabric notebook printed with blue and white lotus, inspired from Chinese porcelain
Mini zip lock bag with Palestinian embroidery makes a great make-up bag or coins bag
Silver boxes that can be used for many things.. favors, jewelry box, bukhoor box, gift box, buttons box. Yes I do have a box at home dedicated for my collection of buttons which I have been collecting since I was 8 years old! And some were even inherited from my mom who happened to collect them from the early 60's! I have yet to find a project for this... so-called collection.
If you wish to learn more about
DAI’s history,

Dar Al Athar Al Islamiyyah’s Museum Shop is located at Abdullah al-Salem School, Maidan Hawalli, Near al Sha’ab Leisure Park

People who are close to me know that when I look for gift, I’m always looking for a gift that is unique, special, and creative. And of course it helps a lot if it doesn’t blow your budget. So, I have found the perfect place to go to, the museum shop of
Dar Al Athar Al Islamiyyah. It offers an assortment of gift ideas to give your friends, especially out-of-towners, at great prices. Aaaand what’s also nice about these gifts is that all proceeds from the sale are used to support programs of
Dar Al Athar Al Islamiyyah. So in a way you are supporting your community.
So, I have decided to write two posts about the things you can buy as gifts or even for yourself. Of course the first post is dedicated to fashion jewelry. The pieces featured in the first photos (pendant, rings, and earrings) have to be my most favorite items in the shop. They’re called Nubia collection and my guess is that they are designed to resemble houses in Nuba. The whole set is priced at KD 30 and I think this collection would look ideal worn with your Ramadan Caftans.

Finally!!
Marni's back. It felt like seeing an old friend. I almost hugged the clothes while snatching them away from the hangers (Don't worry sales people.. I was very gentle with the fabrics). Don't you just miss those colorful prints?! Those quirky cool accessories? The soft leather of it's bags?! Please Marni don't ever leave us again.
Marni's pop-up shop had opened over the weekend at
360 Mall with special
30% discount on the Summer collection. If you have any questions, please call (+965) 2530-9555.

Looking for a new place in Kuwait for designer labels on discount? Then head to Underline. It’s basically an outlet store that is owned and operated by Al Sager group who own brands and boutiques in Salhiya and the Avenues such as Jimmy Choo, MAXMARA, Kenzo, Louboutin.. etc. It might have been there for quite sometime, but I only found out about it recently. Shoppers can expect the largest collection of designer brands and savings of up to 70% off. A great place if you’re looking for classic pieces by Maxmara or a new pair of party heels.
Underline is located in the Avenues Phase I, mezzanine floor.

The iconic curve hugging “bandage dress” has officially landed Dubai.
Herve Leger by Max Azria boutique celebrated its soft opening at Dubai Mall, and will commence with the full launch at the end of October of this year. Known for its impeccably sculpting silhouette with its signature banding construction, the brand has been able to create a cult of fat-free followers, which hopefully one day I’ll be able to join and pull off gracefully without “
Spanx-ing” it. Here’s a sneak peak of the boutique..

I just discovered two new stores at the Avenues (Phase II):
Zadig & Voltaire boutique which has opened next to ShoeBox NY. It’s ideal for people who are looking for refined casual street fashion. Think T-shirts, Breton tops, skinny jeans, long ultrathin sweaters, khakis. Some piece are overpriced though, I’d rather buy them from high-street stores.
FashionCode is another new store which will be opening soon next to
Uterqüe. Apparently they’ll be selling brands such as
Alice + Olivia, and
Vionnet. That’s something to look forward to.

Make sure you get your
Blush fix. Located in Al A'ali mall in Bahrain,
Blush Boutique was the brainchild of Nancy Ghobary, a former Fashion Editor with an immense passion for fashion and style. The concept evolved around creating a place where style was not just about clothes, but rather a lifestyle. After travelling the world, sourcing mainstream, vintage and one of a kind designers,
Blush Boutique slowly came about to life.
The store is a one stop shop for everything hip and truly in style, bringing the best of the runways of Milan, New York , London and Australia with a mix of new upcoming middle eastern designers. The boutique's brands include Siwy, 291 Venice, Zimmermann, Foley & Corinna, ADAM, Gryphon, LaRok, 12th street by Cynthia Vincent, Charlotte Ronson, Whitley Kros and the super cute Parker just to name a few.
But despite all of this, Blush Boutique's edge lies more in the personal styling service it provides. Appointments can be made to have a stylist take you through the seasonal trends and how they can be incorporated in your shopping, how to pull off looks based on your body type while maintaining your own signature style.

when it comes to t-shirts with a twist, local brand
CASHART is the one to know.
CASHART differentiates itself from other brands by applying a unique concept: Intricate, colorful illustrations taken from currencies are imprinted onto each garment in honor of the beauty and creativity of “cash’s art”. In a couple of years, designer Alia Al-Naqeeb’s casual cool yet very affordable spin on the wardrobe classic has attracted a big fan base in this region.
CASHART founder and Kuwaiti designer Alia Al-Naqeeb received her bachelors degree in Graphic Design from AIU London. Alia has always been inspired by fashion, and launched
CASHART as a result of her love for graphic design and fashion design.

The fashionable team at
Al Othman were kind enough to share with me photos of their
clothes outlet store, located on the top floor of Mariam Complex in Salmiya
, which opened yesterday, where you can find great bargains all year round from the biggest designer names: Lela Rose, Oscar de la Renta, Azzaro, Vera Wang, Mathew Williamson just to name a few, all reduced up to
70% off. So I passed by today, and honestly, it is the most organized outlet store I have seen in Kuwait so far. And just like their
shoes and accessories outlet store, the atmosphere was very inviting and friendly, and the merchandise was displayed neatly by designer for easier navigation. I’ll be sharing with you some of my fave picks in my next post. So happy hunting in case you plan to go there first.

With all my focus has gone on rehabbing party/curling iron stressed hair lately, I overlooked my dried out poor nails. So I decided to give my nails an extensive royal treatment at NStyle, one of the first dedicated nail salons opened in Kuwait. Even though I haven’t been there for quite some time for no reason other than being lazy, the place did look as fresh and clean as it did a couple of years back. I know now a days we have a lot of options but Nstyle gets my vote for its clean and friendly ambiance and their prices are reasonable. And even though they take their time with their mani/pedi’s, they do such a great job and my nail polish lasted longer than it usually does. Also, I have noticed that a lot of my friends are still loyal to Nstyle to this day and refuse to go anywhere else.
Anyhow, I found some interesting services at Nstyle which made me write this post, like the oxygen bar, (which I thought it was a cool slush machine!) where you get to breath higher concentration of oxygen to increase your energy, clear your the mind, and release toxic headaches and stress. I haven't tried it yet, but if you did, please do share.
I might be outdated, but I was impressed when the nail therapist told me that they offer free wireless internet at the Salon and if you're a student, you can come in every Sunday or Monday and you'll receive 10% off. I like it with businesses think out of the box (the oxygen bar/free surfing) and care about students' savings (the student discount).
NStyle is located in Salmiya at Bustan Complex's 1st Floor. For appointments, please call (+965) 2571-9050.

I haven’t been to
N.B: Boutique located at Salhiya Complex for quite some time, so it was a nice treat to pass by the boutique and discover some really cool nick-knacks that I don’t think you’ll find elsewhere here in Kuwait. Like these delicate lace and lace-imprint pendants, just what you need to keep you right-on-trend this season and embrace the lace trend. And I also liked this cute illustration on this basic white tee (white tees seem to be my thing these days!). And there was a big selection of
Maloles flats that will have your feet in comfort bliss. My fave were the studded pairs and the unbelievably adorable mother-and-daughter
Maloles flats for tiny feet! Perfect gift idea.

When I first read about
Al Othman’s latest display, I had to go there and see for myself the creative concept “
Let them eat Couture” which was designed by Al Othman in collaboration with
Boutique 4. Cakes and cupcakes were covered in yummy looking and colorful frosting and decorated with long strands of pearls. And why should cakes and frosting take all the attention?! Gorgeous Loubs, Brunos, and other designer clothes were also part of the theme. Each designed area encourages you to enjoy the simple pleasure of shopping and savor the sweetness of retail therapy. I have to admit that
Al Othman and
Boutique 4 have really raised the bar for retailers in Kuwait. And that’s
haute!

TopShop has been relocated to a bigger and a nicer location opposite to
Zara at the Avenues just a couple of days ago. The new shop has a neater shoe lounge and more merchandise than the old one. The merchandise had several new additions by
Unique. The rest is pretty much the same as the ones that were on display in the old shop.

Even though I know a lot of of people who shop at Designers’ Lounge, for some reason, I rarely shop at their Salhiya boutique, maybe the merchandise display was not very inviting. And up until yesterday, I have never been to their Avenues branch. So when I decided to have a look at their Avenues branch, I was taken by surprise by how discerningly stocked boutique it is.
Designers’ Lounge is very heavy on women’s casual chic/semi formal clothes and accessories, with a scant supply of evening wear & accessories tucked in a corner of the shop. I found the display to be a colorful and had a well-edited selection of different lesser known and established brands popping against the shop’s bright white interior. Here I picked some of my favorite items from two lovely brands called
All Dressed up and
Maje which are also currently being sold at net-a-porter.
Adorable mint cropped leather jacket with ruched details by All Dressed up for KD 160. It can be worn with long flowy dresses or high-waist pants
An extra unique and beautiful cropped black jacket with layers of scalloped fabric by All Dressed up for KD 198. Would look smashing with wide long pants
Perfect top to wear with jeans for casual outings. Love the embellished details on one shoulder. Price tag?
KD 72
OK, this top might not look that great on the hanger, but once you try it on, you’ll see that it has so much character. Price tag? KD 90
Another top to wear with tapered pants, ruffled skirts, or jeans with ballerinas. Top by Maje and has this really cute sketch of a girl with a huge black bow. Price tag? KD 46
Designers’ Lounge is place to dress and accessorize in casual-chic style, at not-extremely-expensive prices. The boutique located at Salhiya Complex mezzanine 1. Also at the Avenues Phase II. For further inquiries, please call (+965)2249-0044 or 2259-7766.

To put a chic spin to your jewelry collection (or your mom’s!), you HAVE to check out
Octium.
Octium is a new concept jewelry shop in Kuwait which opened its doors in October 2009 at 360º mall. When I first visited
Octium it felt more like stepping inside a fancy boutique hotel lobby rather than a jewelry store. And ever since I’ve been there I wanted to feature it on my blog but didn’t get around it. And now thanks to
Boutique 4, we can all admire the innovative interior of
Octium exquisitely designed by Spanish artist-designer
Jaime Hayon from the comfort of our couches. Nevertheless, the place is a MUST-visit!

Octium has truly redefined the concept of luxury jewelry in Kuwait. It presents the work of various exclusive jewelry designers from UK, USA, and the Far East such as:
Shaun Leane,
Ivanka Trump, Hanna Martin, and
Pipa Small. Some pieces reminded me of my
Delfina Delettrez’s experience. The pieces in store are: iconic, unique, breathtakingly glamorous, to-die-for, and to splurge on.
The place to send your loved ones to to buy you a gift *devilish smirk*.
Disclaimer: Confashion has learned the hard way that being a shopaholic and visiting Octium can be a fatal combo. Therefore, is not responsible for any financial damages triggered from shopping at Octium. Thank you.

I'm in love with the incredible constructs of paper roses, camellias, and leaf fronds that adorned
Chanel's blooming window display at Salhiya Complex. I could stare at it for hours. How many hours did that installation take?!

If your closet is bursting with barely worn clothing, shoes, and accessories, turn your clutter into charity, and make room for your next season's purchase. A friend has introduced me to
the place to go to when you do your
closet detox. The place is called "
Spring Flows Est." and they take designer clothes in very good shape, clean them, and re-sell them at their second-hand store. Most items are international brands, but there are some non-designer stuff. ALL proceeds go to charity (which for some reason I forgot to ask which one because I trust the owner). Anyhow, so I went there the other day and it took me ages to find the place (I suggest you call them first for clear directions). It's located somewhere close to Fahad Al-Salim Street, Kuwait City. The place is semi-spacious and was packed with Americans and Europeans hunting for designer bargains. I swear one American lady got an authentic vintage quilted
Chanel flap bag (the jumbo size) for KD 10 ONLY!!! You should have seen the shock on my face! I had a strong urge to snatch the bag from her hands and run away with it!! I was amazed when I've found the following designer items sold for really cheap prices.. such as..

YSL trench coat KD 40
Balenciaga white City Motorcycle Bag KD 20
Spring Flows Est is located at Al Dahla Building, Exchange Market, opposite to Municipallty Garden. For any inquiries, please call (+965) 2247-0617.

In a
previous post, I mentioned that
Morgan owners were testing the waters with a new Spanish brand called
Hoss Intropia. Apparently, the brand appealed to the Kuwaiti Market so now they have recently opened their own stand-alone store at The Avenues. So, did I like the store? Well, the window display and the interior were fresh and easy on the eye. The clothes? Well, I guess I'm too picky and not easily amused, the clothes were so-so, definitely not a reason to rush all the way to the Avenues just to solely check it out. If you happen to go to the Avenues for other reasons, then yeah, pay the place a visit, you might like something. And you can check their
online catalogue here. Most items are already in store. My only pick would be the matt metallic layered necklaces featured below, around KD 29.
Hoss Intropia's new boutique is located at The Avenues Phase II next to Al Faris Jewellery.

I have finally managed to go to
360 Mall. And even though the mall has a vast selection of high-end luxury brands such as:
YSL,
Dolce & Gabanna,
Bottega,
Gucci,
Mathew Williamson, and
Mcqueen, I've found the selection to be rather on the ...
yawn side. I mean,
Gucci already has a branch at Al Fanar and MW is already stocked at Al Othman, so why have it in another location in a small country?! Beats me. Anyhow, I'd like to share with you some of the things that I found interesting there... (like the humongous blue chandelier shown in the above photo)

My first stop was at a new store called ShoeBox NY. I was impressed to find a selection of shoes by
Loeffler Randall (shown in the photo above). I think
Randall boots are the best in terms of quality and price.

These golden gladiator sandals with wings detail from
ShoeBox NY reminded me of the cartoon
Astérix
Bimba & Lola is another
Uterqüe-like store that I really liked. It has a cute selection of budget-friendly accessories and shoes like these snake skin peep-toe kitten heels which were KD 60 or 60-something.
Melange has an adorable selection of hair bands for the Blair within you. It also has new hair band designs by Kuwaiti designer
Ibrah.

And I saved the best part of my 360 visit for last, which is the
Fourth Pyramid exhibition, an exhibition outlining the life of the legendary Egyptian singer Um Kalthum. I'm definitely taking my parents to this exhibition, they would LOVE it.

Here are some photos of Um Kalthum's visit to Kuwait where a Private party was held back in the 60's. I tried to figure out some of the faces here. I only was able to identify Adlah Al-Sayer. Do you recognize any of the women featured in these photos? I would have loved to be a part of this historical party/gathering. The women here all looked so chic and glamorous.

Two of my favorite paintings at the exhibition. I wasn't able to get info on whether they're for sale or not. Probably not..

And here are Um Kalthum's original handbag and shoes by
Gucci. Imagine how much these vintage items would cost if they sell them. The bag looked beautiful and very classy.
What was your favorite section/store at 360 and Um Kalthum's exhibition?

I'm sure most of you fashionistas out there have heard of
Uterqüe. But for those who haven't, it's a new store that recently opened at The Avenues next to
Baroue. The store belongs to the Spanish group that owns
Zara. It specializes in trendy accessories and leather goods. It also has a small selection of elegant and sophisticated clothes. The collection is designed with the idea of producing high quality clothes and accessories in very affordable prices. I found some nice pieces at amazing budget-friendly prices.

You can never have too many shoes! I was sooo tempted to buy all those 3 flats! Thank god my friend was with me to talk some sense into me. The black Swarovski crystals encrusted clutch shown below is priced at KD 106. Not bad at all!
If you have already been to the store, what did you purchase? And if you did buy shoes, were they comfortable?

With all the competitive Ramadan Exhibitions going on lately, it's almost impossible to find a Kaftan (darra'a) that looks unique and not your typical mix'n'match kaftan or a patchwork creation with the worst stitching/finishing ever + ridiculously overpriced. So I was impressed to find this darra'a at
I Love Souk. The bright pink colored darra'a had a print of a diamond and emerald necklace on it's neckline which immediately reminded me of
Mary Katrantzou's gorgeous collection. Of course the darra'a does not even come close to the beauty of
Katrantzou's. But it was a refreshing change from what we usually see. I just wish the darra'a had more volume of fullness to it. And for those who like to go all matchy-matchy. The darra'a comes with a matching clutch as shown in the below photo.

I Love Souk's other new arrivals include these uber-chic vintage sunglasses, some were encrusted with colored Swarovski crystals.

There were also few pieces left of
Delfina Delettrez Jewelry collection up for sale. I wish I could buy her entire collection!

I just found out recently that there is an
Antonio Marras boutique at Al Thurraya Complex.
Marras used to be sold at Villa Moda's Multi Brand section but I guess now it belongs to Al Ostoura Group.
I used to be a fan of
Antonio Marras, but to me, the brand lost it's magic a couple of years back. What a shame.

I truly believe that there's nothing like the real thing, but I have to give it to
Karen Millen for smartly creating designer inspired pieces with very good quality. Karen Millen is located at Al Fanar Complex. So here are my most "
obviously-inspired" picks: green satin dress with embellished black belt a la
Dolce & Gabbana.
Azzedine Alaia inspired heels with cut-out like details and scalloped edges
Lanvin inspired stain heels with colored crystals detail

Derek Lam inspired dress with adjustable drawstring waist in tangerine

I just found out about this shoe lovers haven last week called
Scarpe. The place carries a heart-pumping and show stopping array of killer heels and funky flats by big designer names. How come I didn't know about it before?! Shame on me! The store is located at the Avenues Phase II opposite to
Longchamp.
Chloe's emerald green flat sandals with a huge slouchy bow are perfect for day outings or for running errands

Georgina Goodman's yellow snake skin heels are to-die-for!

Cute
Paul Smith two-tone Jelly sandals are perfect for the beach or pool lounging

80's neo-colored flats are the store's best seller

These
Georgina Goodman's heels are a festival of colors
Victor & Rolf's metallic and sequined colored heels add a pop of color to any outfit. I LOVE
Victor & Rolf... not an easy brand to pull off and that's why it's one of my faves

Georgina Goodman's black satin heels with Swarovski crystal details were recently worn by Kylie in Cannes and Gwyneth Paltrow at the Grammy's.

4 boutique is one of those places where I can easily go overboard without the slightest shopping guilt. The boutique was packed with very avant-garde pieces. Their accessories section had me hooked, especially when I saw
Tom Binns's necklaces right there in front of me. "
Tom Binns in Kuwait!!!" My favorite pieces were the "rock chic meets Jackie-O" safety pin and pearl necklace and the yellow neon bib necklace (around KD 500). The boutique also had a nice selection of
Charlotte Olympia heels.
I was also very impressed to find out that they sell
Zaha Hadid's tables as shown in the below two pictures. There was also the
Club Chair from
Lee Broom's Rough Diamond collection which was exhibited during the 2008 London Design Festival (last photo).
4 boutique is truly a hidden little gem in a very low-key location. A must-go place for every fashionista (guys too!) looking for unique and quirky cool items for her/his wardrobe or if you're looking for house accessories and furniture to revamp your home.
4 boutique is located at Mahdi Habeeb Building, Opposite BMW Showroom, Next to Alhomaizi Printing & Union Air. For any inquires, please call (+965) 2492-5444.

Essa boutique recently opened in Villa Moda Shuwaikh next to Marni boutique.
Essa, of Indian origin, was born and bred in the UAE and is known for its color crazy traditional kaftans with a modern twist. Vibrant chiffons, found vintage fabrics, and silk and lace, are just some of the materials that he works together to enhance the feminine form on his colorful gowns, frocks, tops and dresses. Some of his Kaftan designs would make the perfect choice for Ramadan's ghabga.

Essa’s path to fashion notoriety began following studies at the more flamboyant end of fashion: a degree in costume design preceded his return to his native Sharjah where he trained as a pattern cutter with the skilled tailors in neighboring Dubai. He sold his creations through XVA Gallery in Dubai and started to build a business on one-off commissions from fans. But it was a fortuitous meeting with Zayan Ghandour owner of Sauce boutique in Dubai that really put
Essa on the local fashion map. Ghandour’s initial request for six pieces sold out the moment they hit her shop’s floor and he had to quickly up his production ante to cope with growing demand.
Essa is available at Sauce Dubai and Abu Dhabi, DNA in Riyadh, Mahat Jeddah and Zai Doha.

I passed by
I Love Souk recently and I even loved it more than I did before. I loved how it looked entirely different with it's bright decor and use of light bulps everywhere. Also, there were a lot of interesting, funny, and new additions since I've last been there.. Here's a sneak peak...

A section of
I Love Souk had a small display of previous exhibition:
5.5 Icon meets Icons, which celebrated the world’s most iconic perfume, Chanel No.5. Different artists and designers were commissioned to take Chanel No.5, and reinterpret it in their own style.

The above artistic and colorful scruptures are the creation of artist Mark Dean of
Dean Project which also had an exhibition at Al-Sabah Art Gallery recently. And just so you know, pieces shown on the above photo are all sold out.

I loved the concept of these cotton shirts, each shirt is like a brief lesson of Kuwait's history. It givs an insight of mager catastrophies and bad incidents that happened in the past.

Murakami inspired pieces anyone?

My favorite section was the loooong woden table with all kind of accessories. It's my fave only because of the funny comment written on the table next to each item being sold. Very creative indeed!

And last but not least, this chandelleir is also part of
Dean Project (And it's sold out already). It looked stunning.
I Love Souk is located on top off
Al Sabah Art & Design Gallery, outside Al Corniche Club and to the left of Athletes Foot, Arabian Gulf Road.

twist is a new fashion boutique, recently opened at Shaab Sea Side, where you will find the latest casual trends, with a
'twist'. Backed with a London College of Fashion education, an eye for detail, and a knack for making “thrifty” look like a “splurge”,
twist Boutique owner snaps up the latest fashions, and brings them to you right here in Kuwait.

“
My goal in opening twist is to follow my love of fashion design and incorporate what I have learnt at LCF to bring trendy and affordable fashion to Kuwait. I want my customer to walk into my store knowing they will be able to walk out with a fashionable outfit, that not many others will have (due to limited quantities) at an economical price”.
twist is packed with some fun American and European labels like Vava, Tulle, Voom and the fabulous Mink Pink. And its prices are very credit crunch friendly ranging from KD 14 to KD 63, with most around the 30KD mark.

twist is one of those shops that you just want to linger in for more than you intend to because of its friendly staff. It is located in Shaab block 8, Ibn Salam st. off of Ibn Khatib rd. Behind European telecom and is open Sundays to Thursdays from 4:30pm - 9:00pm.

I loved the use of installation art next to each of
Al Othman's mannequins! I think it says something about the store or the boutique from a creative aspect. It is very rare to see such artistic elements in shops in Kuwait.

Nope, I’m not referring to the biggest Mall in Kuwait,

Finding casual chic pieces to wear is very challenging here in Kuwait. It's either sold out the minute it goes in store or it's simply not as "chic" as you thought it would be. Luckily for Bahrain shoppers, that shouldn't be an issue, skewing toward the type of playful and casual chic avant-garde pieces,
Crème Boutique offers a wide selection of clothes and accessories that befit girls who hop from cultural events and gallery opening to shopping malls and cafes for brunch with the girls. Some of the brands they carry are:
Elizabeth & James,
Raasta and
Mawi. Check the boutique out, it’s fashionably and officially open.
Créme Boutique is located at Al A’ali Shopping Complex, Seef District, Kingdom of Bahrain. For any inquiries, please send an e-mail to

Vanessa Bruno opened its boutique 20 days ago at the Avenues, next to Kurt Geiger. Smooth white and light wood surfaces dominated the interior of the store. And the s/s collection on display had beautiful casual chic clothes and handbags for day wear: light dresses, silk harem pants, soft cardigans, comfortable wide pants... Exactly what you need to wear for your casual hangouts and semi-casual office attire.

I think half of Kuwait has already been to
Dean & Deluca by now. The Gourmet Store, located in the Avenues Phase II, offers a vast array of produce and foodstuffs, including many never previously sold in Kuwait. The interior of the store looked so fresh and clean with its white walls, white tiles, stainless steel shelving and glass display jars. It’s a place where you can easily stay for at least an hour browsing the shelves.
Each corner of the store has a different counter: readymade food, sandwiches and cold-cuts, bakery and pastry, cheese, and my fave the candy and coffee display counters (check out the photo of the marzipan shaped like fruits & veggies! YUM!). I think Au Nom de la Rose had a counter too.
The service was mediocre, but the quality of food was astounding, we had a goat cheese sandwich with Avocado spread & whole grain fresh toast, and a nice cup of cappuccino. It’s the place for every true epicurean and host/hostess who wants to make his/her events special.

What's better than to end my 2008's posts with a fashionable visit to Bahrain's much anticipated new shopping destination, MODA Mall. I LOVED it! The ultra-exclusive high-end shopping mall is located on the ground floor of Bahrain World Trade Center (BWTC).
This ultimate dream destination for shopaholics visiting Bahrain has the following designer boutiques: Burberrys, Louis Vuitton, Roberto Cavalli, Tods, Fendi, Hermes, Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, Blumarine, Kenzo, MaxMara, Christian Lacroix, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Agent Provocateur, and Dior all under one roof. And of course you'll also find my favorite Kuwait luxury fashion retailer: Villa Moda (just look at the amazing door entrance of the store shown in the photo below) and
Al Othman.

The original New York Pharmacy which offers skin care, hair care and body care products made with the finest natural ingredients,
Kiehl's, is now open at the Avenues (Phase II). The store is located right next to
Nicole Farhi.

I simply adore Kiehl's products and I have to admit, the customer service at this store took me by surprise, in a nice way. Staff were super friendly and they actually gave me a bag full of free goodies just because I purchased a couple of items. Fab!
So, what is your favorite Kiehl's product?

First of all, allow me to start my post by saying I heart Bahrain. I love everything about it. It's people, the culture, everything. So it is my pleasure today to highlight a new boutique in Bahrain called
Yazi.
Yazi is the brainchild of Bahraini Designer Yasmin Salahuddin. Her creations consist of handmade accessories and clutches encrusted with Swarovski crystals, beads, leather, wood, acrylic, and murano glass. Her collection can be defined as modern, abstract, and different.
In addition to Yazi's collection, the boutique also sells brands from Timmy Woods Beverly Hills, Frandami 1960, Paulette ltd NY. Here are some photos of
Yazi Boutique currently open @ Al Aali Mall Bahrain and the bags they sell. To know more about
Yazi and to view photos of bags/clutchs she sells,

I'm loving the fact that we're seeing more young designers from this region and see the creativity flowing out. It's very inspiring for many. It truly makes me feel proud.

Here's a sneak peek of the Newly opened
DKNY Store located at The Avenues - Phase II. I have been to the store recently, and although I'm not a
DKNY fan (or so I thought), I ended up buying two tops for my casual outings. The prices are very reasonable and a lot of the pieces (
NOT all) look very chic and on-trend, not like it used to be (boring an predictable). Judging by their magazine ads and some items stocked in-store, I think
DKNY has become more sophisticated and fun to wear. The final verdict? This is the place where you can buy casual chic items for everyday use.

If you can't wait for Mulberry boutique to open at The Avenues, then head straight to Salhiya Complex. The brand of highly-crafted luxury leather goods has it's own temporary store now at Salhiya complex within Tanagra's shops.
They are currently displaying a wide range of fall's collection of handbags and luggage in beautiful gem stone colored leathers and exotic skins. The handbag collection includes the famous Bayswater, Mable (my fave), and Roxanne. Soon the boutique will also sell ready-to-wear.
