Friday, July 2nd, 2010BMW Gran Turismo review
Tuesday, June 29th, 2010BMW, there is the X1, X3, X5 and of course the X6 and there is the BMW GT, in short it has the best of all worlds.
It’s a part Salon, Part SUV and part coupe. The front of the 5 series, the rear of the X6 and the interior of the 7 series, but who will it appeal to? my guess it’s for the people who get bored quickly every time you look at the BMW GT you will see a different car. Now we might debate the GT’s design but how this car drive perform is great it drove better than my X6 ;( ![]()
Anyway check out the video clip we did with Ali Alghanim hope u like it, cheers! ;D. [You can watch it at YouTube too]

Accident 1
A friend spotted two cars accidents in the same street connecting Qusor and Qurain within about 3 hours. The first accident was at 8PM and the second one happened around 10:45PM which resulted serious damages.
Accident 1
This intersection or street is famous for crazy accidents that involve serious impacts of deaths , injuries, damages … etc I’m not sure about feasibility but I think there have been some initiatives to replace those intersections with roundabouts which would always force drivers to slow down.

Watch Out, iPhone Devs: One-Man Android App Nets $13K Monthly
Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010To all those companies and developers focused exclusively on iPhone apps: Watch your back. The Android platform is catching up, and none too slowly. As Android’s growth continues to explode since the release of the Droid, only the most foolish of app shops are not planning to expand beyond Apple’s walled garden. One developer, in fact, wrote that his app, which was showing modest, double-digit daily sales late last year, now reports that his app is making $13,000 a month. When that kind of opportunity exists for a single app, why would developers put all their eggs in one basket, a.k.a. the “Jesus phone”? Sponsor A few weeks ago, we told you, “As of December 2009 4 percent of all smartphone owners now use a phone running some version of the Android OS. That’s an increase of 200 percent since the previous survey released in September. “Respondents were also asked about their plans to purchase a smartphone in the future. Among those who planned to purchase within the next 90 days, 21 percent said they would now choose Android.” It’s this growth that helped fuel the success of Eddie Kim’s app, Car Locator. In a blog post today, the developer revealed that his Android app “started as a little side-project while I was vacationing with my family, turned into a few extra bucks for lunch money every day has continued its upward trend and is now beyond my wildest fantasy of what could have been possible. ” Car Locator is a pretty simple application: Users save their location when they park their cars, and the app navigates them back to their cars later. The app was available in free and paid versions with varying feature sets. The paid version originally sold for $1.99, and the price was later increased to $3.99. Kim has done no marketing for the app, but it did win third place in Google’s Android Developer Challenge 2 . When Motorola’s Droid was released, Kim saw his first major spike in sales: “In the first 2 months, the app saw sales of about $5-6/day. Nothing too fancy,” he wrote . “But starting November 7, there’s been a significant uptick in sales, peaking on November 9, where the app saw $44 in sales. Sales have since settled to about $20/day, but it’s probably too early to tell if this will hold.” Little did Kim realize that his sales had just begun. To date, the free app has been downloaded 70,000 times, with paid app sales at about 10 percent of that figure. “The application was netting an average of about $80-$100/day, until it became a featured app on the Marketplace. Since then, sales have been phenomenal, netting an average of $435/day, with a one day record of $772 on Valentine’s Day. Too bad I didn’t have a Valentine’s date this year – we would’ve gone somewhere real special!” (Catch that, ladies?) Kim also stands by the Android platform, saying, “Some may be quick to point out that a featured Android application is only able to net $400/day, while top iPhone apps make thousands However, I still think that Android is only a fraction of what it will eventually become . Each release of a new Android handset gets me excited, as it means a wider reach for the Marketplace.” Folks, if you’ve been longing for a much-hyped app to make its way to the Android Market, forward this article to the developers and marketers in charge. There’s money to be made there, and the userbase is only getting bigger. Discuss

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009
If you enter the Avenues parking lot next to Magic planet and under Dean & Deluca, you will find LED parking indicators so that you would know if this parking raw has an empty space for your car to park (green is empty, red is occupied and blue is for special needs).
Now remember its only 1 section of the Avenues parking lot not all of the parking.
Check out the pictures I’ve took … security almost got me :s

The light indicators are turned at the way of the incoming traffic for better visual for the driver.

Bye Old Chrysler…Ciao New Chrysler
Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009And on the Other side of the Spectrum ……
Friday, October 23rd, 2009both in economic and physical terms. Continuing on from the last post and the one before it, today’s post is actually based on some newer and possibly more accurate data on Kuwaiti crash victims (Yes, Rosseneri or Rossenneri or Rossineri …. I mean us ….. no need to fret or throw a fit …..). Kuwaiti drivers are a unique species indeed we drive fast and tend to have a rather unique body habitus in that we’re either stick thin or rather rotund/fat/fit/obese/steroid laden and 300 like.

We as a nation tend to stereo typically drive fast, break fast and turn fast. We also tend to be chubbier than your average person (that not necessarily being a bad thing, alot of people tend to enjoy a bit of meat on their significant other), however it does tend to pose a rather interesting implications on how likely we are to survive in a car accident.
With that in mind I spent the last week looking for good statistics on fat people in fast cars and believe it or not there are actually some doctors who spent time writing papers on the subject and observing injuries on the fat, thin and younge (sadly, none of them were Kuwaiti despite the amount of car accidents we have in the country no one has bothered to do any in depth analysis on the effects of speed, car type, or body build in Kuwait …. so this was/is the next best thing) but fear not both studies concentrate on a similar population.
The frist was conducted in Florida and used data from about 30,000 crashes and divided them up into men and women then fat, thin and average. They also included passengers and divided them in a similar manner and based on their figures if you were a fat or thin man who was driving you were very likely to die in a fast 2 seater even if the air bags were deployed (about 1 in 100 give or take). However your risks of dieing were no where near as bad as women’s (about 40% higher) and were less if you were short fat person or a ten year old weighing about 70 kg in the passenger seat and before you say that these figures are subjective and based on improper data collection, they went on to replicate these results in crash test dummies by strapping weights onto them. What fortunate is that young fat men and young fat women were less likely to die if they wore their seat-belts (they were almost as good as the average 25 year old drunk or under the influence of drugs …… no really ….. read the article …….)
What’s interesting is that the other study conducted purely as a biostatistics study (no influence by trauma surgeons, ER staff or laymen or any companies, completely funded by the public) came up with almost the same conclusion. They found that women (and to a slightly lesser extent, men) required more care, sustained more major injuries and had more injuries that were undetected than the national average.
So surprisingly we are doing something right, wearing seat belts (despite the discomfort, ruffles shirts and 2 seconds delay involved in doing so) is actually probably the only thing that is guaranteed to save you (well not you , cause you’d probably be dead ….. your family and friends ……) alot of grief.
Another interesting thing is that none of the studies try to see how many people in the obese population sustained minor injuries and they only mention that the most deadly combination is a fast car and a thin short person, nor do they factor in driving proficiency when stratifying men and women…… i.e. they don’t blame women drivers …….*
So in conclusion, I’d like to apologise for boring you with this rather mundane three parter on road traffic accidents and how/why we can prevent them (the readership fell quite sharply, so did the hate mail) but it is a subject that is quite near and dear and something I think people might want to read up on, especially people in healthcare; all three who actually read the blog…………
*Yes, eleventh street; it was a cheap jab and meant to be joke…..apologies ……

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009A New Blog – Brake Banzeen
Sunday, September 27th, 2009
I tend to follow car blogs a lot, to see whats coming next, what are the numbers of the next machines. What else manufacturers have lined up or the troubles some of these companies face. One of these new blogs is Brake Banzeen, I have been following this Kuwaiti blog for some time now and I like it, he tends to have some information before those main car blogs do and sometimes he has some really good juicy videos to watch that make my mouth water seeing some of those machines, like the details on the new M5. If you like cars or anything with four wheels then this blog should be added to your list, I hope he transfers to a main address rather then a wordpress address soon.

I’m not a fan of small cars but the Fiat 500 is a car which has peaked my interest and this time around they have come up with the perfect vehicle or somebody else has. Abarth and Ferrari have taken the Fiat 500 to the spot that it needs to be, 180 bhp tweaked out of the normal 99 bhp engine, race spec Brembo brakes and 17inch wheels. I really like that they went for the Scuderia look with this machine, I think it would be a hell of a lot of fun on the streets and track.

Girls Don’t Like Boys
Tuesday, August 11th, 2009
Girls like cars and money. I’m really getting sick from the polos and lacoste shoes, from the large fancy glasses and even larger watches, from the Ferrari and cars with ridiculous mods. Our community has become so based on money that our conversations and everything in our lives has become based on cash. People get judged based on how much they carry in their pockets. We are so far away from real joy and freedom in life. Girls are getting married not based on if they love the person they’re getting married to but based on how much money he has and what high class family he comes from. Our lives has become so fake and meaningless. Our trips abroad have become not about having an adventure and enjoying our time, but about how high class it is, which hotel we spent our time in and what fancy things we bought. I want punk music, great best friends, true love and a boat for us all to get on to get away from it all.

Thursday, July 16th, 2009After visiting the showroom yesterday and seeing that the car is crazily over priced here in Kuwait comparing to the prices in states. I am thinking of ordering one from states. Its just a thought and might change at any time but as of now I am just in love with the new makeover of the Mustang. They don’t have the Shelby 2010 in the showroom but the new GT looks really nice.
