أغلبكم سمع بقصة التجسس التي حصلت مع مشتركي بلاكبيري في الامارات من قبل شركة (اتصالات) الاماراتية التي قامت بارسال برنامج تجسس على انه تحديث مهم وخطير الا ان شركة بلاك بيري اكدت ان ذلك البرنامج هو برنامج تجسس وهنا مقطع فيديو يبين أحد الاشخاص وهو يذم الشركة بطريقته الخاصة

منذ أفتتاح ماكدونالدز بالكويت وأنا أتذكر ذلك الطابور الطويل على شارع الخلج العربي وكأن الكويتيين أكتشوف للتو شكل البرغر الاصلي (المدوّر) ومنذ ذلك الوقت أنا أفضل بيغ ماك وماك شيكين وهناك مرات أقوم بتناول شيز برغر او فيش فيليه .. تلك هي وجباتي الرئيسية … هناك بعض الفترات التي يتم بها طرح ساندويشات جديدة أقوم بتجربتها الا البيغ ماك شيكين !! لا أدري لماذا لم أقم بتجربتها من قبل !! رغم مرور وقت طويل جدا على طرحها

أثناء وجودي في موقع تويتر شاهدت (مازن) يتحدث عن تلك الشاندويش وقررت وقتها الخروج وطلب واحدة .. صدقوني عندما أقول أن هذه الساندويش ستكون أختياري الاول في كل مرة أتوجه بها الى ماكدونالدز

اليوم التالي توجهت الى ماكدونالدز وقمت بطلب 2 منها !!! تخيلوا كم هي لذيذة ؟ شكرا مازن

The first concept is based on an interactive and dynamic approach. It doubles up as an animated intro as well as the logo of the blog. The character that we see is in a way, a modern animated berry; with eyes that are formed out of the initials of the blog – “BB”. This character (that can be later translated into the mascot for the blog) will be flash – animated and will continuously interact with the viewers. The berry’s antenna is symbolic to the tag line of the blog, “Share Your Thought”. It absorbs your thought and everything you wish to contribute to the blog and shares it with the other readers. The concept of this sort of a logo is extremely unique in the blogging world. It works as a benchmark in itself! The colors and fonts used are bold, striking and have a ‘loungy’ feel to them. They make the blog look sophisticated, yet full of energy. All the elements of this concept come together forming a very balanced, cohesive blog that gives the reader a refined and perky experience.

The second option is derived from the first. It has a simpler, more formal approach and makes the use of just the fonts and colors but still has a modern and suave sort of a feel to it. The lounge effect is stronger in this as it doesn’t have any humorous tome to it.

سمعت ان دبي اغلقت مشاريع تقدر بـ 300 مليار دولار

This is the second part of my shipment I had to fight for last Sunday besides the iPhone 3G S, so you can tell it was a rather big day, and it will be some time before I get any new gadgets. The Amazon Kindle 6”, quite a fascinating eBook reading device that made me dive into the eBook thing few years before I thought I would, and I owe it in the first place to the person who gave me a first hands on experience of it, and secondly to the continuous high pricing of Aramex which made any simple book a heavy purchase. Onn many occasions, I end up paying same or higher price on shipping, than on the book it self.

Now ofcourse thanks to the customs putting their hands on my valuable package, the joy of first hands on touch and opening the package was gone at the cargo place, so this is a reenactment of the box opening.

Here you can see a quick two steps startup guide made available on the screen. I wanted to take off the plastic piece with the instructions, but it just won’t peel off! It turns out it’s the screen content itself, but it looks so real. Thanks to the electronic-ink display technology, the Kindle doesn’t need power to hold up the ink in it’s place, allowing them to write the startup guide on the screen and ship it, adding a wow factor to the first impressions.

Once you follow the steps, Kindle starts loading and then takes you into the Kindle Guide book that comes pre-installed.

A browse through the guide would be of help to know all the features and shortcuts.

Reading Experience:

Compared to regular books, I thought I’d be missing some joy. Once I started really reading using the Kindle, I felt the desire to convert part of my physical library into Kindle if I could. Especially for books with little or no coloring, reading on the Kindle is actually much more easier and eye friendly. Ofcourse, not all type of books might be suitable on Kindle, but great portion of them are.

Kindle books that are sold by Amazon are ofcourse always perfectly formatted for the device. But what about all the PDf files you have? Kindle 6” does not come with native PDF support, and you have to send your document to Kindle via email for conversion. If you don’t want it sent wirelessly to your device (at an extra small fee), you can always send it to @free.kindle.com, and download it to your PC, then send it over to the Kindle over USB connection. So I did few PDF conversion tests, and conversion happens pretty fast, within a minute or two of the upload. One of the books was a rather clean one, another was a landscape one full of colors and have borders on the side, the third was an Arabic PDF book. Here is how it goes.

Now I didn’t really expect this to pass through, but it actually did pretty well, with some minor issues.

Notice how the left border got converted into a single page by it self. This will come in from page to page, wasting another page flip. But other than that, it’s all neat and clear, and I can enjoy reading it using the Kindle. The Kindle even identifies the links in the PDF version of the book and are made clickable for jumping from one location to another.

No eBook Reader Is Perfect! Not Yet At Least!

Pros & Neat Features:

• Fast Delivery: You don’t have to wait as your book gets delivered instantaneously.

• FREE Delivery: After the last price drop of the Kindle 6”, I realized that if I buy on average one book per month, I would most likely be paying the same Kindle price on shipping in approximately 14 months or so. I’ve already purchased three books that account for like 10% of the Kindle price, and one of the books was even listed for $0.99.

• Readability: Reading eBooks on the computer screen is boring for many, and eye tiring as well. Great amount of books are also printed in low quality material that ink sticks to your finger while reading. Not the same here. It’s totally clean, and every eye friendly. I won’t be lying if I say it beats reading some physical books I have.

• One Place For All: This encourages you to read more and on different topics when you have just small break for instance.

• Bookmarks: No longer do I need to twist my page to recall where I stopped last time. No, I’m too lazy to use physical bookmarks.

• Notes & Highlights: How often do you read a book, and want to quote part of it? Or you want to write a note to get back to in the future, but you don’t wanna miss up with your precious book? Now you can!

• Definitions: Place the cursor infront of the word, and you will get instant definition of the word from Oxford dictionary.

• Text-to-Speech: Pretty much better than I expected it to be, my brother thought it’s an audio version of the text not on the fly text-to-speech.

• Search: You can search for words or phrases in the book. You can only hope the Index would save you in regular books.

• No Glare or Backlight: This is both good and bad. Good to give the Kindle longer battery life, and make it easier on the eye. Bad in that you need surrounding light to read it.

Cons:

• Speed: When flipping just to the next page, it really isn’t that bad at all. But say you frequently flip back and forth by few pages to recall on some paragraph. It can get boring here. Also, when moving cursor or writing, it feels like the old ages once again.

• Locked: You are kind of under the mercy of Amazon here. Ofcourse you can get your PDF files to your Kindle, but Amazon is controlling the conversion. Also, your Kindle books are locked with kindle. I would hope there is a way to convert them to PDF files and take them with you, but I guess you’re gonna have to figure a way for your self.

• No Borrowing: You can’t exchange books with others, unless you wanna exchange Kindles.

• Initial High Cost: I already explained how this can become cost-effective with time, making Kindle more than just a book cover.

• No native PDF support: Even though, I’m happy with the results I got so far.

• Lose One, You Lose Them All: Having all books in one device means you risk losing them all if you lose the device, and you will have to buy a new one to get your books back.

Yes, the great Karl Lagerfeld toyed with the aesthetic of paper during his February Couture show, but this is an entire wearable wardrobe made of paper.

The July/August issue of L’Officiel shot the pieces pairing them with the fluidity of jewellery.

I previously promised to show you how technical analysis warned us of an impending disaster last year. I leave you with the charts:

The  above chart is a two-year weekly chart of the KSE index. If you followed my KSE analysis in the past then you would have realized the significance of moving averages. Here is, in my opinion, happened:

• At the very top of the chart, when the index was at its peak, we saw the first of a number of warning signs. You might realize that the highest reading is illustrated as a + sign. In technical analysis, this sign is called a doji. To explain further, the doji sign might mean that a reversal might start because investors are indecisive.
• I would not give this doji sign much importance because I don’t really like the idea of having only one reading determine market conditions for the near future. I like to see more gradual and prolonged changes to make sure I made an accurate analysis.
• The first warning sign came in around the beginning of August when the 5-week moving average (the red line) negatively intersected the 15-week moving average (the green line) The intersection point is shown with the first arrow.
• The second warning sign came a month later when the 15-week moving average also negatively intersected the 25-week moving average (the blue line) In the past, I explained that the larger the time frame of the moving average, the more significant it becomes. This mean that the second intersection, as shown by the second arrow, is a bigger and more direct warning signal.

This weekly chart depicts the KSE index over the past 5 years. In this chart we see what I think was the final warning sign for the ’slow learners’

• The thick black line represents a support for the index that was legitimate since even before 2004. This five year trend line is extremely difficult to break.
• The support line failed to contain the index on October of last year. That was really bad news and it was the final warning before the index plummeted about 6000 points  before regaining composure by late January.

To recap, technical analysts could have seen the first warning sign as early as late June of last year. They were given 3 more obvious warning signs over the next 3 months. Seasoned technical analysts would have heeded this warning and would have exited as early as August. If they did exit the market then they would sit on their cash while others around them were losing theirs.

That is the beauty of the stock market, if something bad was going to happen, then it would still give you multiple chances to exit the market. It was as if the market was pleading us to save ourselves! The problem was that greed can sometimes blind technical analysts from seeing such warning signs!

During all of this, some fundamental analysts failed miserably in their jobs, I remember reading last year in May/June an analysis by a prominent Investment bank (I think it was Morgan Stanley) when they predicted that oil would continue to climb to $250 a barrel!

I believe an explanation is due…
