for the passed couple of months i was searching for a software or anything to make my family tree since i like documenting old stuff and well these kind of things are priceless to me it’s nice to see how your family has grown up and how many your family members are and all that,,, so after searching the web i finally found a good and easy program to use, it looks simple and it doesn’t need any help using it and the best thing is that it does what it was made for not like all the other once I’ve tried, the software’s name is GenoPro 2007 very easy to use and does the job, here’s a screen shot:

That’s what seems to be the most frequent question I get through the blog at the moment.

Well, where I’ve been is certainly a lot more interesting than where I currently am, yes we’re back in sunny Kuwait, for now at least.

I recently joined STAND (A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition), and after a week of my first group meeting, we had an effective successful event: Voices from Darfur by the Save Darfur Coalition.

“The Save Darfur Coalition raises public awareness about the ongoing genocide in Darfur and mobilizes a unified response to the atrocities that threaten the lives of people throughout the Darfur region. It is an alliance of more than 180 faith-based, advocacy and humanitarian organizations. The coalition’s member organizations represent 130 million people of all ages, races, religions and political affiliations united together to help the people of Darfur.”

The Voices from Darfur campaign is basically about refugees touring and educating people about the genocide, and ways we can help. I found it very touching and affective that we were actually in front of survivors, hearing about their personal tragedies, and how they are trying to overcome this struggle for peace. We placed flyers and banners around the campus in order to attract people’s attention and motivate them to come, also some group members informed their professors and classmates. I would say over 200 people showed up, the lecture room was packed to the extent that some people were sitting on the floor and standing at the back of the room.
Towards the end, many people signed petitions, bought awareness clothing, signed up to join our group, and stayed and had more Q&A with the Sudanese men.
Overall, I really enjoyed the event; learned a lot, but there’s more to learn. Cant wait till the next event.
