New game plan?Net Admin with Lymphoma
Salam all,
Well, according to the Dr and the PET scan response, he said we’ll go for 8 chemo sessions total instead of stopping at 6!!
This puts my last chemo session date on 1/Sept/2005!!!
On top of that, he said we’ll need to wait 6 weeks then take another PET scan after the last chemo! That’s on 13/Oct/2005 just before Ramadan starts!
Since there won’t be much to do during these 6 weeks (I can do blood tests at Makki Jumaa if needed), I’ll see if the KOC Health office can arrange for me to be back to Kuwait until then. At least I’ll get to help out with the new building move (IF it starts on 1/sept that is ;)) and see the family and kids and arrange for their kindergarten school, etc…
If there are still traces in October in the PET especially in the chest area, they’ll need to do radiotherapy to the chest area (5 days a week, so 20 days to a month!! that puts us afte ramadan end of november!)
If there are traces in other parts as well, they’ll probably resort to both radio and high-dose chemo therapy (ouch!!).
Anyway, my 5th chemo is this Thursday insha’Allah, and they’ll give me the neopogen/immunity injections to take home, especially since my neutrophil count (immunity) was lower than the previous times. They think it’s because the bone marrow gets affected/tired after every chemo which is common (bone morrow is what generates the white blood cells and neutophils that fight infections in the body). I just have to be more careful from infections and have mostly clean cooked food during the 12-15 days after each chemo because serious infections mean I’ll have to be addmitted to the hospital for IV anti-biotic treatment.

PET scan todayNet Admin with Lymphoma
Salam all.
Well, today is the big day. I’m scheduled for a PET scan at Alliance medical (http://www.alliancemedical.co.uk/imagingcentrelondon/contactus/map/locationmap.doc).

I probably won’t get the results until my next appointment on Tuesday 28th two days before my 5th chemo on the 30th. It will just show how well the response is to the treatment. They will also repeat it at the end (after the 6th or 8th chemo to compare).
